As a follow up on my previous post I would like to report that I have received a lot of positive feedback. I have inserted a photo of Sheldon Cooper (the brilliant genius from "The big bang theory") and it seems he is really improving on his smiling skills. Well done Sheldon, keep up the good work.

Happy heart, Healthy heart.

Smile. Take the initiative today to be friendly, don't wait to "feel" out the other persons mood, just be friendly.

For most people I know this sounds way to daring, so I have developed a 5 step plan to help you.

1. Take your right and extend your middle and index finger to form a peace sign.

2. Lift that hand to your face while still carefully keeping your hand pose.

3. Place your 2 extended fingers in the corners of you mouth.

4. Gently push up until at least 2 teeth are exposed.

5. Keep the facial expression while you slowly lower and relax your hand.

As you will notice, if you continue to smile and be friendly to everyone you interact with, you will soon see people warming up to you and eagerly returning the smiles.

Stairway to "Heaven"

In a society with escalators, lifts, trolleys, and wheels on practically everything we sit on (yes I know toilets don't have wheels....I said practically), we have become accustomed to a lifestyle of effortless mobility. We don't walk, carry, push, drag or lift anything as much as we used to only a few years ago.

We wait 20 minutes to find a parking close to the mall door, just so we don't have a extra step. Yes I know the benefits of our modern day society, especially for people with disabilities. But just because your tired doesn't mean your disabled.
So start today to look for just one place where you can take the stairs instead of escalators and lifts (and no, I don't expect you to climb 20 stories a day). Just look for one opportunity to give those almost completely extinct muscles a bit of exercise. Just one little change, a few small steps, almost no extra effort, and you are a little bit closer a more healthy and happy you.

Please note I do not recommend this to anyone with knee problems or any other serious health problems. If in doubt, consult your medical practitioner.

What does it mean to be "healthy"?

Why is this such a hot topic in almost every magazine, talk show or radio station? The truth is this, we all now about the importance of being healthy, but yet most of us fail completely to live a healthy lifestyle.
In this blog we will look at a great variety of tips, talks and myths. Find out what are the things that will help you as a individual and how to be positive and motivated about it. Get rid of all the old wives "recipes", expensive training equipment that doesn't show any results and a few mental blocks in the process.

And no I am not talking about going on a permanent diet, exercising 2 hours a day or any of that. My personal philosophy have always been that basic principles can help you to live a healthy lifestyle physically, emotionally and spiritually. It is the little things that make every day great. Feeling healthy, happy and ready to take on the world is just a decision away.
